Utah has people of all descents and backgrounds but not that many Irish Americans which is why St. Patrick's Day isn’t big in the state.

Some may be familiar with the green beer, shamrock shaped pastries and even corned beef but you’ll have a hard time finding large celebrations of St. Patrick’s Day in Utah. Though there are some celebrations dotted here and there, Utah is also a very low alcohol state which makes the traditionally rowdy holiday less popular.

However, the Irish American population isn’t zero in Utah, its 5.55% or 197,809 people. So, a decent amount of Utah has Irish roots or connections. However, Utah also has the second lowest number of Irish Americans in the U.S. after Hawaii, World Population Review said.

So, basically Utah isn’t the BEST place to go to for a St. Patrick’s Day celebration but that doesn’t mean you can’t still have a good time.

If you want to grab some beer and dye it green, go for it. There are also a ton of recipes for corned beef, or you can grab some from the store.

Checking out your local brewery's schedule for St. Patrick’s Day is a great way to see what is going on in your neighborhood and area as well.

No need to spend the holiday alone and if you do want to have a more chill St. Patrick’s Day, you can always stay home, eat green foods and watch Irish movies on most streaming platforms.

Have a Happy St. Patrick’s Day Utah!
