Spring is only a few days away from “officially” coming to Utah and that means some weather changes.

For those who suffer from seasonal allergies, you may already be feeling the weather changes (I know I am). However, the biggest changes are expected to come in April and May according to the Old Farmer’s Almanac.

Utah is expected to have warmer temperatures than normal, the Old Farmer’s Almanac predicts. About 4F degrees warmer than usual. However, May is looking to be a bit colder than usual by roughly 3F.

The good news is that Utah is also expected to get some much-needed rainfall in the next few months. At least that is what the Old Farmer’s Almanac is predicting.

Overall, the country should expect a warmer than normal Spring season with a few cold bursts here and there. Lots of areas are expected to get rainfall throughout April and May, which includes the intermountain regions of Utah and Northern Arizona.

The Old Farmer’s Almanac is basing these predictions on the solar cycle which has surpassed the levels seen in 2024.

Peak solar activity is expected to occur in July and steadily increase from now until then. So, Utahns can expect the heat to come at its normal time, especially in Southern Utah.

Some Spring storms may make their way to Utah as well with high winds in April and May.

There isn’t much snow predicted for the rest of the year but that doesn’t mean it won’t or can’t happen in Utah.
