Best Way Protect To Your Home From Scorpions In Utah With Simple Trick
One unfortunate side effect of Spring in Utah is scorpions which means that it's time to reconsider your home’s defense.
Anyone who has lived in Southern Utah knows that scorpions are an unfortunately common issue. They are always found in the worst places and prove to be a pest in any homes close to the mountains.
So, since the season of scorpions in Utah is Spring through Summer, now is the time to check all the places that a scorpion could make its way into your home.
The U.S. Human Wildlife Interactions gave some helpful ways to make sure that scorpions stay out of your home.
- Check your house for cracks and dark spaces. These are places where scorpions like to reside so eliminating or covering those spaces can be a good preventive measure.
- Get rid of woodpiles and if you do have a woodpile, keep it far away from the house.
- Put cedarwood oil around the house. Scorpions hate the stuff.
- Shoes and other personal items are a prime place that scorpions can hide. Always check them to make sure that a scorpion isn’t inside.
- Dark areas like sheds are a place that scorpions hang out. Check there too.
- Lastly, spraying regularly or having professionals come to do bug spraying is a good way to keep scorpions at bay.
So, if you haven’t taken the time to check your home, now is the time to do it. As the weather heats up, scorpions will start making more appearances.
Also, since they are nocturnal creatures, it's best to be extra careful at night.
