Utah has taken a closer look at its imports from Canada, China and other locations with President Donald Trump’s Trade agreements.

In 2024, the beehive state was the 24th largest exporter of goods the office of the U.S. Trade Representative said. Utah exported a total of $18.2 billion in goods. This was almost a 50% increase from 2014 in exported revenue.

The state’s main export is manufactured goods, primarily manufactured metal which accounted for $8.1 of Utah’s export revenue, the website said.

Not only did exports account for revenue but also for an estimated 45 thousand jobs.

Most of the Utah companies who were providing exports were smaller businesses with less than 500 employees in 2022.

So which country is purchasing the most Utah goods?

Well in 2024 it was the United Kingdom. The beehive state exported $7.9 billion goods to the United Kingdom in 2024. Followed by the United Kingdom was Canada at $1.5 billion, China $1.1 billion, Mexico $1.1 billion and lastly Japan at $666 million.

Though these numbers may change with the new tariffs in place, it's clear that Utah was a place with goods that the world wanted.

Utah also was a large provider of agricultural goods at $600 million.

The main areas in Utah that were producers of goods include Lehi, St. George, Ogden, Salt Lake City and Murray.
