Utah Gas Prices Are Still Trending Upward
Utah is seeing a fluctuation in prices on certain goods like groceries and car loans, but the biggest concern might be gas prices.
It was good times when once could fill up their gat tank for about $20 but those days seem to be long gone. Not only are gas prices high in Utah but the state’s gas prices are currently beating the national average.
Different counties in the state are seeing a range of prices however, even the lowest gas prices are over $3.42 per gallon, AAA said. The national average of gas is $3.27 per gallon while Utah’s lowest is still a few cents higher than that.
The counties with the lowest gas prices are Box Elder, Carbon, Emery, Sevier, and Millard ranging between $3.51 and $3.42.
While it may not seem like a lot, Utah has reliably been at higher gas prices by around 20 cents. A year ago, the gap was by a whole dollar. This tends to add up when you need to fill up your tank.
Counties with the highest gas prices in Utah are Rich, Daggett, Grand, Beaver, Piute, and Wayne. The average for these counties is $3.96 to $3.71.
Some counties like Tooele, Washington, Iron and Uintah are right in the middle cost-wise so getting gas isn’t too bad. However, Utahns (and visitors) are still looking at gas prices between $3.62 to $3.55 per gallon.
The AAA calculates these averages each day, so these are only the numbers for Sept. 9. The trend for gas prices is going up however, and it doesn’t seem that Utah will be lowering its gas prices anytime soon.
