Utah is known as a dry state because of its heavily religious culture and alcohol laws that are in place, but it still sees DUIs.

No matter where you go in the U.S., DUIs happen, and as tragic as it is, when it comes to Utah, the numbers are low, at least compared to the rest of the country. However, that doesn’t mean that DUIs aren’t happening across the state.

Even in St. George, which has a growing bar scene and a reputation for being family-friendly, sees its share of DUIs throughout the year.

The lives lost needlessly always make the news and bring a sense of fear for drivers who are simply trying to get where they need to go.

In Utah, the DUI numbers are relatively low. The counties in Utah that made the list of DUI incidents in 2025, were Weber and Utah Counties. So, the beehive state only has two that made the list.

Utah isn’t even on the original list of worst counties with DUIs in America.

In Weber County, fatalities involving a drunk driver amounted to 11% while Utah County was up to 15%. There was a total of 24 drunk driving related deaths in Utah County in 2025. Weber had 10.

The numbers are low in Utah and whether that is a result of less of the population consuming alcohol or the laws surrounding it, remains a mystery. However, real people with lives and families are impacted by DUIs in the state.

No matter how low a DUI number is, unless its zero, someone suffers.
