Utah is famous for a few foods, but it has one “pastry” that isn’t talked about enough that.

For those who are obsessed with pastries like me, you may always be searching for the best pastry. Well, Utah technically does have a regional pastry and no, it is not Jell-O related.

Utah “scones” are a wonderful treat that is specific to Utah. If you’ve ever had one, then you know these aren’t scones in the traditional sense. It is actually fry bread covered in honey and butter.

So, not scone like at all.

However, Utah Scones can be found all over the state and are a specialty.

Popular at festivals and local shops, tourists and locals can find a Utah Scone whenever they want.

Crispy fry bread with butter and honey is such a nice treat, however, it can’t be mentioned without the origin of frybread. Frybread is Native American food originating from Arizona’s Indigenous people. This was invented during the displacement of the Indigenous people of Arizona who were forced to walk 300 miles to New Mexico.

It was an awful historical moment and fry bread was just one of the things that resulted from it.

Fry bread made its way to Utah and the fluffy fried dough is a real hit in the beehive state. You can of course get Navajo Tacos which usually consists of meat, lettuce, tomatoes and cheese.

So, if you want to experience Utah’s best-known pastry, the Utah Scone, check out local shops and upcoming festivals, there are sure to be some at these locations.
