Utah may not be anywhere close to Italy, but it does have a few good places for pasta, especially in St. George.

Jan. 4 is National Spaghetti Day and St. George has two Italian places that are worth checking out, Cappeletti's and Chef Alfredo’s. They have the traditional spaghetti and meatballs but also other great Italian dishes for locals and tourists to check out.

Cappeletti's

This restaurant is located in downtown St. George and has been a part of the community since 2010 according to the website. It's owned by Andres and Lorena Cappeletti, and their three children Facundo, Matteo, and Lara. The family makes the dishes daily and puts out Italian dishes with a “twist of Argentine flavor” in them.

They have a lunch and dinner menu, and you can get spaghetti and meatballs from both menus.

Chef Alfredo's

Chef Alfredo’s has two locations in Southern Utah, one in Cedar City and St. George. The restaurant was started by Chef Alfredo Modica and Chef Gerardo Reyes who met each other in Las Vegas. They ended up partnering and moving to Utah in the 2010s. Chef Alfredo’s started in Cedar City in 2013 and added another location in St. George in 2014.

Though Chef Alfredo has retired, the restaurants are still under Chef Gerardo who produces some of the best Italian food in St. George. You, of course, can grab yourself some authentic spaghetti and meatballs from either location for National Spaghetti Day.

So, head to these restaurants to support local businesses and enjoy some fantastic food!
