Utah has a ton of well-known places like Zion National Park, Salt Lake City and more, but this less-known town is also a visitor's paradise; Green River.
Now, looking at it may not seem like it has a ton to offer, but Green River, UT has historical significance and beautiful geography for river rafters and hikers.
Not only does Green River have something for everyone, but it's also just super pretty. Whether you want to be more adventurous or just enjoy the local views, you totally can. So, if you’ve ever been curious about the place, here are all the attractions you need to know.
According to VisitUtah, Green River used to be a hang out spot for Butch Cassidy and his gang so if you are into old West history, this place is perfect. There is also a John Wesley Powell Museum complete with rafts and historic boats to view.
If museums aren’t of interest to you then check out the Crystal Geyser that flows into the Green River. It's one of 15 in the world.
The City of Green River is also known for its Melons which are supposedly some of the best in the world. In September there are Melon Days where fun activities are held like melon eating contests and a parade.
For those looking for a more water-based adventure, Green River has got you covered. You can golf at Green River State Park and then head to the boat afterward and head toward Stillwater Canyons. There is also river running and Swasey’s Beach for a chill day.
