What AI Thinks Utah Is All About
Utah has several stereotypes from soda lovers to god-fearing Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint members, and alcohol limits.
Some of the stereotypes are even true. Utah does have the most LDS members in the U.S. and has an insane love for soda. The alcohol restrictions are also very real but that’s a whole can of worms we won’t be opening in this article.
I checked with the AI generator Midjourney to see what it thought Utah was all about in four categories; Utah, Utah culture, Utah residents doing Utah activities, and Mormons.
The findings were a little surprising.
There is a lot of natural beauty in Utah and Midjourney absolutely got that right. There are places filled with flourishing green forests and sparkling freshwater lakes. AI went for the look that’s seen in Southern Utah with the tall red cliffs, farming communities, and the great outdoors. However, AI isn’t perfect and some of the grasslands and trees look a bit more safari-like than Utah actually is.
Utah has a love for the outdoors and that’s most definitely obvious in these watercolor-style pictures. Interestingly enough, Utah also loves gas stations, women with fruit, sitting around rocks, and the picturesque red cliffs.
Coming back to the large LDS population, AI came up with some real boy-band album-like covers. It’s honestly fantastic and I think the church should add these to some of its missionary pamphlets. They look COOL!
Utah is in love with the outdoors and AI knows it. When I searched Utah residents doing Utah activities, AI hit it right on the money. Hiking, off-roading, and going outdoors with friends is pretty much what happens here. In fact, half the Tinder profiles here list hiking and outdoors in the bios. Nice job, AI.
