Utah has a bunch of cool outdoor activities you can do but this one might just be the most missed.

If you have ever had the urge to check out a cave, well Utah has those too! However, this cave in Washington County is super easy to miss because it is located in a “hidden” area. Luckily, I know how to get there and can tell you how to find it.

Those who like to avoid the I-15 and take the scenic backway to Mesquite on Old Highway 91 may have seen the sign for Bloomington Cave. It's super easy to miss so you’ll need to watch out but it's before you start going through the windy part and after you’ve passed the last billboard sign.

Follow that road and continue on until you see some signage for a map. This will lead you to a bunch of rock formations and the cave entrance. It isn’t really marked so you will have to look around.

This is not a cave for unprepared people. Grab those headlight lamps, knee pads and a few flashlights. The BLM recommends a few sources of light and some extra batteries for this adventure. Also, wear some good boots.

A first aid kit, rope, and water will also be needed on this trip.

Inside Bloomington Cave

Inside the cave are lots of fun areas that you can check out with some cool soda straws, stalactite, and cave popcorn. You’ll also be able to see some of the cave's species, mainly 29 different kinds of insects. There are also two types of bats which you shouldn’t disturb and are much harder to see anyway.
