Fishing is a sport I have never understood, however, I can see why people travel to do it just for the views alone.  

Plus, if you grew up eating freshly caught fish like I did, you know it can be worth it. I simply just don’t have the patience. With that said, one of the best fishing lakes in the U.S. is in the surprising state of Nevada.

It would be hard to find another lake in the west as beautiful as Lake Tahoe. 

Serene mountains, beautiful blue water and of course, fish. For those who want a bit of an adventure, Lake Tahoe offers a unique area to fish, and you can grab some pictures while there.

Those who want to try their hand at fishing in Lake Tahoe can do a fishing charter but be warned, it's expensive. There are a few you can choose from, but they can be anywhere from $250 to $900 depending on what you do.  

There is also fly fishing available which looks pretty fun. Just be ready to get in the water for that activity.

Lake Tahoe connects to California and is also where the states record 37-pund Mackinaw was caught.  

Basically, the place is a fishing haven so it's no wonder it made the list of best fishing lakes in the U.S. But it offers more than that.  

Visitors can also do some hiking, biking, and of course beach days, which are perfect for summer. Lake Tahoe is a veritable summer gem.
