Utah is home to a lot of wildlife and farm animals which can make driving a real challenge and did for some Utah drivers this week.

Two animal-related incidents have occurred since Saturday in Utah, causing car accidents. For whatever reason, Utahns are experiencing animals on the roadways this week.

The first incident on Saturday was a couple up in Garfield who had a turkey fly through their windshield. Though no one was seriously hurt, first responders did use this opportunity to remind drivers to go the speed limit and pay attention.

The turkey actually ended up in the back seat of the car and the driver and passenger had some minor scrapes.

For Utah’s second animal-related incident, a few cows got onto the I-15 early Tuesday morning in Springville. It caused a car pileup involving a semi-truck in the wee hours of the morning. However, there were no serious injuries reported to the drivers and passengers.

A few cows did get hit, however. It looks to be the work of a broken fence that allowed the cows onto the freeway.

So, Utah drivers need to be extra careful of wildlife right now as animals become more active, especially on roads that have a history of wildlife passing through. The I-15 incident is a bit out there but can obviously happen.

Beware of wild turkeys and cows as you make your way to your destinations and keep an eye out for any other wildlife that may appear.

You never know when a turkey will fly through your windshield.
