Interesting: Utah’s Top Google Searches Are Surprising

Utah is a weird mix of people and it's not surprising that its Google search history is a reflection of that.  

Perhaps it's my won bias but I was sure that “churches near me” would have been in the top Google searches for Utah. It is not. Nor are there any religious questions or topics in the most searched for the state in 2023 or 2022.  

Kind of surprising honestly.  

However, Utah did showcase its love of sports, video games and an AI site during 2023.  

A study done by World Population Review showcased the most searched topic in each state for 2023 and 2022. Oddly enough, Utah fits right in with places like Texas and New Jersey when it comes to trending topics. Two states that have never really resembled Utah at all.  

World Population review said that Utah’s most popular searches in 2023 were Damar Hamlin, Chat GPT, Soper Bowl, Hogwart’s Legacy, and Ken Block. Three of the five top searches are sports related with Damar Hamlin of the Buffalo Bills, the Super Bowl and then Ken Block, a professional rally driver.  

The mix is pretty interesting, and it seems that once again AI has wormed its way into a list. Chat GPT does have its merits and so for people to be seeing what they can do with it isn’t all that surprising.  

Hogwart’s Legacy came out in 2023 and with how much the state loves Harry Potter, a game with awesome graphics came out that caught the attention of many. The search for it just makes sense.
