Texas Roadhouse Expands In 17 States, But Sadly Not In Utah

Popular food chains have been going through the wringer this year with some being bought out and others disappearing but not for this one beloved chain.

Texas Roadhouse is a favorite, especially in Southern Utah where crowds in St. George can be seen during weekends and evenings. It is pretty much ALWAYS busy. I understand since they have some pretty great ribs.

The chain announced that it would be opening new locations in 17 states including its spinoff Bubba’s 33. However, Utah is neither getting a new Texas Roadhouse nor a Bubba’s 33 in the new locations.

Utah currently has seven locations across the state including the one in St. George. The beehive state has no Bubba’s 33 locations at all, and that doesn’t seem to be changing soon.

Bubba’s 33 focuses more on burgers, pizza, and wings. Still American food but less...BBQ like?

Well, either way, Utah isn’t getting new locations during this round of added restaurants. However, some of our neighboring states, like Arizona, are getting at least one location (a Bubba’s 33) of either restaurant added.

Utah will just have to wait its turn. Luckily, it looks like the chain adds about 30 new restaurants across the U.S. a year, USA Today reported. So, perhaps there is still hope come 2026 or 2027.

For now, St. George will have to keep to its one Texas Roadhouse location with no Bubba’s 33 and the state will remain as it was. I do hope that the chain reconsiders during its next expansion because Utahns sure do love Texas Roadhouse.
