With Summer comes travel and if you’re anything like me, you’re thinking of gas prices and factoring that into your day trips.

Though gas prices have gone down overall, there is no telling if they will stay that way. However, the current gas prices aren’t so bad in Utah. In fact, the state is below the national average, so that is pretty cool.

According to AAA, the national average gas price right now is $3.166, and Utah’s average gas price is $3.313. Not too shabby but it all depends on where you are in the state.

Certain counties in Utah should be avoided at all costs when getting gas because they exceed the national average and will definitely make your wallet feel lighter.

Though these prices are only reflective of regular gas and not diesel or special grade, these numbers are not too bad.

The worst average gas price in Utah was July 1, 2022, at $5.262 a gallon. That is INSANE to think about paying over $5 a gallon. I don’t even remember how I made that work.

Luckily, the prices in Utah are much more reasonable than in 2022. However, if you want to save money when traveling around, avoid the most expensive counties in Utah.
