Utah skiers can rejoice in Southern Utah since Brian Head Ski Resort is maintaining its Nov. 8 opening day.

Despite the warmer weather leeching later into Fall this year, Brian Head Resort made the courageous decision to start on Nov. 8 months ago. Well, it looks like they are keeping that date and those who want to hit the slopes can start this Friday.

Many of the Utah ski spots compete each year for having the earliest opening day. Brian Head Ski Resort is beating most out by a few weeks.

According to Ski Utah, of the 15 ski places in Utah, several are opening toward the end of November including Solitude Mountain resort, Snowbasin Resort, Park City Mountain, and Alta Ski Area.

Those opening in November are Deer Valley Resort, Eagle Point Resort and Sundance Mountain Resort.

The rest are still TBA or to be announced.

Another reason that Brian Head Resort’s opening day is so surprising is that there has been no recent snowfall over the last few days nor is there predicted to be any this week. The Weather Channel is predicting small percentages of rain from one to nine percent over the next few days along with winds.

However, there is no snow in the forecast.

The Brian Head Resort website is staying hopeful though and is keeping its Friday date. Though it will definitely be chilly with the wind factor, for those who can’t wait for more snowfall or Winter vibes, they can go skiing.
