Utah Stanley cup users and gift givers may need to stop using the cups ASAP after a recall.

The beehive state loves its Stanley cups and for good reason. The cups are well insulated, cute and easy to take on the go. However, the switchback and trigger action stainless steel travel models are being recalled by the company.

So, if you just purchased or were planning to give one as a gift then pay attention.

Stanley is recalling 2.6 million of these models because of a possible burn hazard AP News said. The threads inside the lids shrink when they encounter heat or get turned (taking the lid on and off).

There have been reports from around the world of Stanley users who encountered problems with the switchback and trigger action models. AP News said that 16 reports came from the U.S. and that there were 38 burn injuries across the globe.

Only two burn injuries came from the U.S. and 11 of the Stanley cup users needed medical attention.

Chances are you purchased one during Cyber Monday or Black Friday from locations like Dick’s Sporting Goods, Walmart or Amazon. These models come in several colors and were 12oz, 16oz and 20oz in size.

These travel cups have been sold since June 2016 so you could have purchased one earlier.

Stop using the cups immediately and contact Stanley for a free replacement lid.

You can contact Stanley via their website and send an email or call 866-792-5445 Monday through Friday during normal business hours.
