Dogs really are man's best friend but there are different levels of dog devotion across the world and broken down by states.

Some people treat their dogs like children, getting them clothes, setting up playdates, giving them messages, and premium dog food. Some people even cook entire meals for their dogs.

In an age where it's more difficult to own a home or start a family, dogs and even cats seem to be the solution. Utah is no exception, though we still have a decent human family rate.

The beehive state is below the national average when it comes to dog-owning households which is over 59 percent in the U.S. Does that mean that Utahns love their dogs any less? No way.

Roughly 58.5 percent of Utah households own a dog, World Population Review said.

The number of dog owners in the state is 36.2 percent meaning that individuals who own dogs are fairly high. Just about everyone I know owns a dog and why wouldn’t they? No one is ever as excited for you to come home as your fur baby.

I’m not sure about this number, but Utahns own an average of 1.60 dogs. Somehow, we have a little over a dog and a half.

Our devotion to our dogs is roughly 45 on the scale meaning we go out of our way for them. I know my dog is treated like a princess, so this makes sense.

To add to that, nine percent of Utahns stayed at a job they didn’t like just for their dog. Dog parents must be able to provide yummy treats and vet appointments.

Lastly, 38.5 percent of Utah dog owners would spend $4K to save their dog. Heck, I would give my kidney to save my dog!

So, these little (or big) fur babies are super important to Utah life and next time you think your life could be better without your dog, think again.
