Memorial Day is swiftly approaching meaning that beloved stores may be closed for the holiday.

Utahns love their Costco's, and Southern Utah is soon opening its much-anticipated second location. However, despite previous year’s having Memorial Day sales at popular stores, Costco won’t be doing so. At least not on actual Memorial Day.

Memorial Day falls on Monday, May 26 this year so those who were hoping to get super on sale items or last-minute BBQ foods will have to go somewhere that isn’t Costco. It won’t be open.

Will Utah Costco's Be Open For Memorial Day?

All Costco locations across the U.S. will be closed for the day as one of the few holidays the store completely closes for. Now, some people may be upset about this but hey, Costco employees deserve holidays just like anyone else.

This just means you need to do your Memorial Day shopping in a timely manner!

Also, this isn’t fantastic for Costco money wise, but it does seem like a nice thing to do for employees. Memorial Day hasn’t been a usual “off day” in the past making this a new thing.

Plus, Costco competitors like Walmart will still be open. Utah’s other favorite grocery store, Harmon’s, should be open as well since there has been no announcement of locations being closed for the holiday. However, that could change.

So, unfortunately for Utahns who shop at Costco, Memorial Day or Monday groceries will have to be postponed.
