The Best Places And Dates To See Fall Leaves In Utah 2024
Fall is slow coming to Utah with record high temperatures in August and September, but you should still be able to see the beautiful fall leaves soon.
According to predictions from the Farmer’s Almanac, Utah’s best time to view its variety of Fall leaves will be from October 5-21. However, different regions may see them sooner or later than is predicted.
In past years, places like Cedar City and its surrounding forests have been known to start color changes in mid-September.
Utah has several amazing places to do some “leaf peeping” during the Fall months. Some places are scenic byways, while others are forests that you can stay at and enjoy for several days in a row. You may even get some stargazing in while you’re at it.
Here are a few places recommended to go see the leaves changing colors in Utah.
Fishlake National Forest
Life Elevated Utah recommends the scenic byways near this forest for some of the best views of leaves changing colors in Utah. You’ll get a chance to see the lake as well when you drive by.
Cedar Breaks
If you are traveling or live in the Southern part of Utah, you’ll have the chance to view some of the remains of a devastating forest fire against the backdrop of yellow, reds and golds. Despite the charred areas, it's still beautiful to drive through and see the aspens and maples along the road.
Logan Canyon
Located up north, Utah has a great option for those looking to get into the Autumn vibes. As a National Scenic Byway, the Logan Canyon Byway is a great option for color change viewing.
