The Oldest Inn In Utah Is Still Doing Business
Utah has many historical sites, but this one hotel is a gem that anyone can stay at to get a taste of the old west.
Located in Marysvale, Utah, the Moore’s Old Pine Inn or previously The Pines Hotel has been up and running since 1882. Newspapers still adorn the inn from 1812 from the New York Times, the website said.
Not only is Moore’s Old Pine Inn the oldest hotel in Utah, but its historical relevance also has connections to famous people like Butch Cassidy and Zane Grey who stayed there.
Marysvale was a mining town during the end of the gold rush era and also had a railroad allowing people to visit from all over.
In 1993 the inn was purchased by Randy and Katie Moore who spent a few years doing renovation work. In 1995, the Moore's had their first guest. The inn was most recently purchased by Rodney and Julie Mayo, who are continuing its tradition.
Guests can stay at the inn which has three deluxe suites and four rooms with shared baths, the website said. There is also a guest parlor, dining room, kitchen, office and front porch areas.
A lot of the decor is still antiques reminiscent of the old west.
Aside from the inn itself, there are eight Old West Cabins to stay at. Modeled after a western-style saloon, the cabins give a nice reprieve from city life. They are behind the inn where access to a grassy area, a fire pit, and a volleyball court are available.
