U.S. News and World Report has released their 2022-2023 list of best colleges in the country, and, once again, it is good news for Southern Utah University. The annual listing ranks colleges and universities on a number of metrics, and SUU did very well in several of them.

The best showing the university made in the rankings was placing 2nd among regional universities in the West for students with the least amount of student debt. SUU ranked 32nd among top public regional universities in the West and was 64th among the best regional universities, public and private, in the West.

All of this success comes as SUU is going through an unprecedented level of student growth. From 2010 to 2020, SUU saw a 57% growth in enrollment. That made it the 7th fastest growing regional university according to data from the Chronicle of Higher Education. The U.S. News and World Report rankings evaluates 1,450 institutions using 17 measures.

SUU, which will formally inaugurate Mindy Benson as president of the university during Homecoming Celebrations the week of September 19th, is also celebrating 125 years of service to the region. Southern Utah University currently offers more than 150 undergraduate programs, 32 graduate and certificate programs, and is offering its first doctorate program.
