Sleeping Around With Mikey & The Mrs: Eureka Casino Resort
Sometimes the best way to show your kids how much you love them, is to abandon them completely and get out of town.
Bonnie and I are proud parents of five beautiful children, three of which were conceived on purpose.
But as much as we love our children, sometimes we need to get away and have some time to ourselves. And since we’re not made out of money, our getaways have to be within a reasonable driving distance.
That’s why we decided to go and stay overnight at the Eureka Casino Resort in Mesquite Nevada.
We headed South on I 15 into Arizona, where we made a quick pitstop to get some lottery tickets in Beaver Dam. We’re not big Lottery people, but the jackpot was over $1 billion, so we thought "why not?".
Spoiler alert: we did not win the lottery. But that didn’t matter because we were back on the road and on our way to our final destination, the Eureka.
We checked in at the front desk which looked great, and the staff was very nice. I would say the staff was attractive, but my wife was standing right next to me so I kept that to myself.
When we got in the room we were able to chill out for a while and watch TV. You may think that it’s not a big deal, but when you have a bunch of kids, watching a TV show uninterrupted is genuine euphoria.
What happened next is completely, 100%…
The next morning we took a walk around the place. The pool and cabana area was really cool, but we were not in the mood for a swim considering it was November, and we had more important things on our mind.
I wanted to eat until my pants no longer fit. Listen. You have your dreams, and I have mine.
We went next-door to the casino and the market Street buffet. The Main Street Buffet is only open one day a week, and that's Sunday mornings for breakfast.
They served free champagne with breakfast which is something I had never seen before, so I took advantage of that as much as I could. At least I think I did. Things got a little bit fuzzy after a while.
After we had a little fun in the casino, then went around town to see the sights.
Refreshed, relaxed, and feeling better about life in general, we got back on the freeway and headed to home sweet home, Utah.
If you’re looking for a great getaway, we highly recommend the Eureka in Mesquite.
