Utah’s ULTIMATE Super Bowl Menu!
We've got the Big Game happening in Las Vegas this weekend, and 99.999999% of us will not be at the game. Instead, we'll be watching at home and eating our own foods. But, what will we be cooking on Super Bowl Sunday? Will you be ordering out?
Here are the TOP 10 Foods that people will be cooking for the Super Bowl:
1. Tater Tot Casserole:
This is a HUGE staple in the Midwest United States. It's pretty simple. It involves frozen tater tots, ground beef, corn, and cheddar cheese.
Recipe Here!
2. Buffalo Chicken Dip:
This is HUGE for Super Bowl Parties, and it usually is pretty great! It's really simple if you pick up a $5 rotisserie chicken at Costco, and shred it yourself.
Recipe Here!
3. Football Cookies:
For me, the sweets are always my favorite at every party. These are really easy too. You can just take your cookie dough, cut them into football shapes, and place them in the freezer for 10 minutes and they'll maintain their shape. The kids can even get in on this and help decorate these cookies!
4. 7 Later Dip:
7 Layer Dip is SO GOOD minus one ingredient... GUACAMOLE! Guac can go away and die, but for the sake of the recipe, I'll give you the ingredients here. Ground Beef, Salsa, Refried Beans, Guacamole, Sour Cream, Black Olives, and cheese!
Recipe HERE!
5. Flamin' Hot Nachos:
These are interesting! I LOVE nachos. So much. Whether It's ground beef, chicken, steak, shrimp, or no meat at all... Nachos are so good. Throw in refried beans, sour cream, rice, melted shredded cheese or that gooey nacho cheese... But with these, you take Flamin' Hot Cheetos, crush them up, and sprinkle that dust all over the top and they'll have a big kick to these nachos.
6. Buffalo Wings:
Don't even mess around with these on your own, you're going to give yourself Salmonella. Go buy these wings at your favorite chicken place. I suggest Winger's or Wing Nutz.
7. Beer Cheese:
I was recently introduced to Beer Cheese at Silver Reef Brewery, and it was AWESOME with soft pretzels, chips, or even bread or tortillas!
Recipe Here!
8. Bacon Wrapped Jalapeño Poppers:
I'm a huge fan of Jalapeño flavor... But not ACTUAL jalapeño. So, I've never actually had a Jalapeño Popper before, but Jalapeño Poppers are ALWAYS on people's lists for Super Bowl parties! Plus... You can't go wrong with bacon wrapped ANYTHING.
Recipe Here!
9. Pulled Pork Sandwiches:
YES! Pulled Pork Sandwiches should be on EVERY menu for Super Bowl parties! I'm not sure I've ever had a bad Pulled Pork Sandwich before, but if you're looking to buy some instead of making it... Dickey's BBQ Pit and Pork Belly's has amazing Pulled Pork!
10. Deep Fried Ravioli:
I've never seen these until tonight, but they look amazing actually. You get those frozen Raviollis, drop them in some egg, put them in flower, then deep fry them! Delicious right?! Dip them in some marinara sauce and you'll be a happy camper!
Utahn's That Could EASILY Do The Super Bowl Halftime Show!
Every year at the Super Bowl, someone does the halftime show and like 95% of everybody HATES IT! At this point, I don't know why anyone every agrees to do it! Afterward, all you hear about is how "Awful" the show was. While that will NEVER change, here are some people that UTAH would definitely support if they were doing the halftime show!
1. Panic! At The Disco:
Yes, technically Panic! just broke up.. But still I want them to do halftime. Now everyone is probably thinking "Panic! isn't from Utah! They're from Vegas!" Well, kind of. Brendan Urie, the lead singer of Panic! At The Disco was born in a small little town called St. George, Utah. That's right! Brendan Urie is a LOCAL to St. George. His mother moved him to Vegas a few years after he was born!
2. Imagine Dragons:
Once again... People are probably mad! "Imagine Dragons are from Vegas too!" Well, you know that they started the band in Provo right? Radioactive, Thunder, Whatever It Takes, Believer, all hits that we can say originated right here in Utah!
3. Post Malone:
This guy would PROBABLY be the most likely to ever get the Halftime Show. People love his music, but from what I've seen and heard... He's an even better person! He now lives in Salt Lake City and SOME still believe the conspiracy theory that he actually does have that big house in Washington up on the hill! GIVE US POSTY AT HALFTIME!
4. Jewel:
WHO WILL SAAAAAAVE YOUR SOUL?! Jewel already did the National Anthem for the "Big Game" at SB30! I like me some Jewel, and maybe that's because she's a Utahn too! Born in Springville, Utah while her dad was attending BYU. Now, this is a long shot obviously. Jewel will NEVER get the Halftime Show, but it's still pretty awesome that she's from Utah!
5. Neon Trees:
Neon trees are another band like Imagine Dragons that got started by LDS kids in Northern Utah, but they never had any GIANT GIANT GIANT hits. Everyone has probably heard Everybody Talks or Animal. Tyler Glenn, lead singer of Neon Trees, used to be on talk shows galore talking about his LDS mission or the fact that he was gay, but still a member of the church. Glenn ended up leaving the church in 2016.

DJ's Kitchen: Texas Toast Mini Pizzas!
I like to experiment in the kitchen with different recipes! Last night, I found a really cool recipe that was SO CHEAP, and SO EASY! Texas Toast Mini Pizzas! These took under 20 minutes to prepare and were actually SO BOMB! This will make 8 mini pizzas for under $15.00!
INGREDIENTS:
New York Bakery Texas Toast (Five Cheese) - $3.76
Rao's Pizza Sauce - $4.78
Great Value Shredded Mozzarella Cheese - $2.22
Hormel Mini Pepperonis - $4.22
DIRECTIONS:
Follow the instructions on the back of the Texas Toast box and cook the bread first on a cookie sheet. It's 8 minutes at 425 degrees.
Once those are cooked, spoon on your pizza sauce and spread it out onto your toast, keeping them on the cookie sheet.
Next, add your shredded mozzarella on top, followed by your pepperonis, and more shredded mozzarella.
Throw your mini pizzas back into the oven at 425 degrees, and watch these pizzas. Once the cheese is melted to your likeness, pull them out of the oven. Let them cool, and enjoy.
ALSO... These things are DELICIOUS with Ranch dressing!
DJ's Kitchen: An AMAZING Southern Utah Original Recipe!
Tonight, I was having a craving for a meal that I grew up on. A meal my mom grew up on, and a meal her mom grew up on. It should probably have a sexier name, but we call it Macaroni & Tomato Juice.
When I was a kid and we would have this for dinner, it always felt like a "Broke Family Meal." But now I'm an adult, and it's a total delicacy! I love this meal!
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Macaroni
- Tomato Juice - NOT SAUCE - Juice.
- Shredded Cheese
- 1 lb. Ground Beef
- Diced Onion
- Salt, Pepper, Seasoning
DIRECTIONS:
Get that ground beef on the frying pan. When it's about halfway done, throw on some diced onions (As many as you'd like). Simultaneously, get water boiling for your macaroni! If you're a real star, you can get your beef done at the same time your macaroni is done.
Next, strain your macaroni and put it back into the pan. Add your ground beef with onion.
Now, add your tomato juice. You should be adding a lot. It should be soupy kind of.
Get your burner back on, and throw in some cheese. I add a lot of sharp cheddar!
Once it's boiling and warm again, I stir that all together and put it in a bowl to enjoy! I like eating it with a spoon, so I get the juice too!
Now, once it's all cooled off, or put in the fridge, when you reheat it, you'll have to add more tomato juice or it won't be runny anymore. ENJOY!
Southern Utah's BEST Homemade Ramen Recipe!
I grew up on Top Ramen, but now that I'm older I've discovered ACTUAL RAMEN, and it's probably my favorite! This weekend I decided to try my own Homemade Ramen, and it's SERIOUSLY INCREDIBLE! The best part: It's REALLY inexpensive too!
1. Two packages of Chicken Ramen Express by Chef Woo.
Vegetarian, No Dairy, and no MSG, made in the USA, baby! They cook in 3 minutes once the water is boiling!
2. 3 Cups Great Value Chicken Broth (1 cup water)
This chicken broth was like $1.90 and obviously WAY BETTER than just water for your ramen! The Ramen calls for 2 cups of water per package. I will do at least 1 1/12 cup chicken broth and 1/2 cup water for more flavor!
3. Half Can Great Value Sweet Corn
Adding corn to ramen seems so simple.. But it makes a HUGE difference! Throw it in when the noodles are soft and boiling.
4. A few splashes of Soy Sauce
This helps with the flavor just a little bit. I probably do 4 or 5 splashes into the boiling ramen!
5. Great Value Parmesan Cheese
Throw this on top after your ramen, and ramen seasoning is in your bowl! I love it. A lot of people don't do parmesan on their ramen, but it's SO GOOD!
5. French Fried Onions
I would've never thought these could be SO GOOD in ramen, but they are! They get soft, and add that onion flavor. SO SO SO GOOD!
