The Best Easy Hike Is In Ivins, Utah
Ivins has one of the easiest and most scenic trails for those looking for an undemanding hike.
Located at 100 E, the Berm Trail has a small parking lot right up toward the red mountains. The trail is mostly flat with a stunning view of Ivins from above. Berm trail is built hoisted up on a flat surface while having views of wildlife and mountains on one side and homes on the other.
However, the farther in you go, the more you will feel “in nature” as the homes on one side drop off.
This hike is only 2 miles long, which included going and coming back. It is a popular trail but not usually busy depending on when you go.
The Berm Trail is open to bikers, hikers, horses and you can also bring along your dog. Just remember to keep them leashed and clean up after them.
For those hoping to see wildlife along the way, you may be able to spot some lizards, bunnies, several birds, and even snakes during the warmer months. However, you’ll have to keep an eye out for them since they like to hide behind bushes and aren’t on the direct path usually.
There is a fork at near the end of Berm Trail which will either take you to Tuacahn Trail on the left or merge with Toe Trail on the right. Rumor has it that Toe Trail has had some sightings of tortoises around this time of year in the afternoon.
Between the months of June and August, its recommended to not go on the Berm Trail after 11 a.m. due to the heat. There is no shade along the path making it very easy to get dehydrated.
