Utah loves ice cream year-round, even when it's cold and snowy and especially when it’s swelting hot which is why it has a favorite flavor.

Now, if you don’t like ice cream then this article isn’t for you but if you adore the sweet and cold creation that is ice cream then read on. Actually, if you don’t like ice cream maybe this will change your mind.

Utah has a thing for ice cream. I mean the residents LOVE the stuff and you can’t go far in any direction without running into a local ice cream shop. It’s a whole thing in Northern Utah to get Aggie ice cream.

However, the true peak of Utah ice cream comes in rocky road flavor. That’s right, Utahns like a little marshmallow and crunch (nuts) with their chocolate ice cream. I can respect that.

According to Axios, rocky road is the preferred flavor of ice cream for 11 states including Arizona, California, Idaho, Colorado, Nevada and more.

Basically, Utah fits in with the crowd.

I can’t begrudge the beehive state for choosing a classic flavor however, the top five flavors in the state are a bit...basic.

Axios said that the favorite ice cream flavors of Utah go like this; rocky road, chocolate chip, pistachio, vanilla, and mint chip.

I mean, where is the chocolate fudge? The caramel swirl? The cookie dough?

It’s nowhere to be seen.

So, if you’re looking for predictable (yet always good) flavored ice cream, Utah has got you covered.
