The Best Winter Activities To Do In Utah This Year
It is getting chilly out, even in Southern Utah which means Winter activities are fast approaching.
Utah has some of the best activities for Winter and gets super geared up for the time of year when snow is around. There are lots of things locals and visitors can do over the next few months while the cold reigns supreme.
There is a great list from Visit Utah which I will go into detail about but there are also some Winter/Christmas attractions I will add to the list.
Ice Castles
Utah Ice Castles are something else! Located in Midway, these ice castles are works of art started by a family who began in their backyard. Visitors can see beautiful archways, tunnels and slides. It will be cold but so worth it.
Dog Sledding
If you have ever wanted to do some dog sledding but figured it's an Alaska-only, thing well now you can. Utah offers a few different dog sledding tours, but spots fill up fast. Once of the most popular is Bear Ride Adventures in Park City, UT.
Fifth Water Hot Spring
Nothing like doing a hike in Winter to be rewarded with a hot spring at the end of it. It is about 4.5 miles total to get to the hot spring and is a popular attraction during the warm and cold months in Utah.
Homestead Crater
Also located in Midway, UT is Homestead Crater which is a great place for getting into the warm geothermal waters. Apparently, you can also dive there year-round.
Snow Tubing
Tubing isn’t just for lakes in Utah but also for snow. There are several locations that you can snow tube at across the state.
Temple Square Christmas
Whether you are LDS or not, you can enjoy Temple Square during Christmas. The lights are absolutely spectacular and really get you into the Christmas spirit. The lights go up the day after Thanksgiving and stay on throughout the holiday season.
