Spooky season in Utah is just beginning and with so many haunted places to visit, some of us are looking for a new kind of scare.

Now, if you are a horror fanatic (like me) watching scary movies, going to haunted houses, or using Ouija boards are a breeze. However, it's all been done before. Actually, I'm not even sure I've seen a horror movie that freaks me out since the new IT movie came out in 2017. But I digress, there are places to go that give you a chill without being...fully haunted.

What I mean is that some of these places could definitely be haunted but no one knows for sure.

So, if you’re looking for a chill thrill these are some Utah places you can try.

#1 A Deserted Store

You know those creepy places that just seem to give off weird vibes? Well, deserted stores most definitely fit that description. Maybe the business has been doing badly and it's the late hours of the evening and creepy music plays from an old speaker. I get a chill just thinking about it.

Hear me out. I know these are traditionally “haunted” places but during the day they seem harmless. Don’t trespass but check out a cemetery at night and you’ll see what I mean. It's like the dead aren’t really dead and the lack of noise isn’t just from movies, it’s real.

If you’re a truck driver you may have experienced this one. Sometimes in the wee hours of the morning when all is quiet, it can be unsettling. The roads are dark, and the only company may be a low radio sound. You’re all alone and this is especially true on old dirt roads where passersby are non-existent.

In the Spring and Summer, Utah bodies of water are full of life but as hibernation comes about there is a deep quiet that renders the night unnaturally still. With fish sleeping or unheard in these waters, it can seem foreboding. Frogs don’t croak and the crickets don’t chirp. It's just you and whatever's below the surface.

Creepy Abandoned Colorado Home Looks Like a Horror Movie Set

WARNING: Under no circumstances should you enter this property. By doing so you risk bodily harm and/or prosecution for trespassing on private property.

An extremely creepy abandoned home in Colorado has a secret tunnel, a bunker, and oddly enough, multiple pairs of shoes that have been left behind.
