National Beer Day is April 7th and in celebration of that, I wanted to highlight southern Utah breweries. Wikipedia says, “Beer is the oldest and most widely consumed alcoholic drink in the world”. “The earliest archaeological evidence of fermentation consists of 13,000-year-old residues of a beer with the consistency of gruel found in Israel”. So, beer is a drink that has been a part of people’s lives for a very long time and there are several different types. The ale types include Pale Ale, Real Ale, and Mild Ale. There are also Stouts, Lambic, and Lager.

Policy Kings Brewery: Located in Cedar City. Policy Kings derives its name from the 1930s and 40s National Brotherhood of Policy Kings. In just about every Black community, they fed the hungry, clothed the naked, and gave their community a sense of security.
