The official Pride Month happened across the country (and world) in June, but one Utah town needed to postpone due to high heat.

Southern Utah may not have the best reception to all things Pride but there is a growing community. Since the weather is unbearable in June because of the 100-degree weather, the Pride events are saved for September.

This year is no different and the local organization Pride of Southern Utah is planning a fantastic month of events.

Pride in the Park will return in September along with a fundraiser for Pride of Southern Utah and a few celebrities, local and not. Brian Falduto, a gay country artists will be hosting a concert during Pride in the Park and Ryan Erwin, a Utah comedian will make an appearance.

The organization is still looking for vendors and performers for the events. If you are interested, you can find out more on their Instagram.

Utah communities up north have finished Pride month, but the battles continue as Logan sees a repeated theft of Pride flags. The thefts seem to be becoming more common place and unfortunately, the LGBTQ+ community in Utah is very used to this. Still, those who have had Pride flags stolen just put them back up.

Southern Utah has seen the same issue in recent years, though no reports have been made recently. Maybe this year other residents will simply leave flags in someone's yard alone, even if they don’t agree.

However, with the trend up north, chances are at least one Pride Flag incident will happen.
