1st Time Utah Fantasy Author Goes Big On TikTok With New Book

Utah is full of creative people, including some pretty well-known authors but it also has some people just starting out in the world of writing.  

Most recently, a Utah local who went to TikTok to advertise her debut novel has been blowing up since late 2024. Utah Bio Chemist and Author of The Tournament of Heirs Amilea Perez is one of the newer authors making a big name for herself.  

The novel The Tournament of Heirs was released on Kindle Unlimited (KU) and in hard copy in October 2024. Even prior to the release, Perez was advertising her debut novel with some big hits on the TikTok platform.  

The Tournament of Heirs is the story of two siblings bathed in Aztec lore and culture fighting for their empire against other heirs. The story looks action packed and has a bit of romance as well, according to the KU description.

On Amazon, the book has a 4.3 rating and on Goodreads a 3.9 rating.  

This is only book one in the series The Mexica Chronicles. So, there is sure to be more to the story.  

Recently Perez added some animations to The Tournament of Heirs on her TikTok making the book have another element that curious readers can look for. That post gained 686.6k views on TikTok.
