Miss Rodeo Utah Makes Top 10 At NFR 2024

Utah represented last weekend at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas with rodeo queen McKardy Kelly.  

She was Miss Rodeo Utah and won third runner up at the competition. Miss Rodeo America 2025 went to Callie Muller of South Dakota.  

The Miss Rodeo America is a pageant as well as a test in horsemanship at the National Finals Rodeo. Tons of young hopefuls compete in all things rodeo, but these rodeo queens do things like work with horses, get judged on beauty, personality, speech and take a written test.  

Kelly, our very own Miss Rodeo Utah was the winner for the speech portion of the contest.  

These ladies work hard year-round in all they do and it's always a pleasure to see them at local rodeos around the state. Next time you attend a Utah rodeo, remember that it isn’t all about looking pretty. These gals can seriously handle their horses.  

Not only that but doing good in the community is an essential part of being a Miss Rodeo so it's not all glamour and makeup.  

The Miss Rodeo America is still a pageant though and the categories reflect that. It was nine days of competition, Sports Illustrated said. It's a huge event that sells out tickets pretty fast.  

There were top 10 finalists who made the pageant list and runner up list.
