These Types Of Pollens Make Utah Allergies Worse

Allergy sufferers in Utah are experiencing the full Spring bloom right now and can look forward to more.  

It seems unfair that humans can be allergic to literal pollen which is just a part of nature. Basically, some humans are allergic to nature. Not fun or cool at all.  

Being one of those humans, I am always looking for relief and finding out how many kinds of pollen Utah has is pretty daunting. However, there are certain kinds of plants who have worse pollen impacts during certain times of the year.  

At Intermountain Health Hospital in Riverton, UT a new device is being used to help those who have allergies in that area. Fox 13 said that the device looks at a seven-day period and sees what kind of pollen is around and what people are allergic to. Then the website is updated to tell people whether they should stay inside or take medicine for the day.

The abundant pollens in that area are elm trees, ash trees and cedar trees,  

You know how people say to go touch grass? Don’t do that if you have allergies because grass pollen is coming next.  

Those who are preparing for summer and trimming the lawns will spread those pollens around making your allergies much worse. However, you can’t get mad at your neighbor for mowing their lawn.  

For those who are not in Riverton, you’ll have to make do with checking the pollen counts from the Weather Channel or whatever site you use.
