Utahns Have A Short Time Until Google Deletes These

People in Utah should be aware that Google is getting ready to purge Gmail accounts that haven’t had any activity in the last two years. This is how they define an inactive account: 

If you haven't logged in or done any activity on a Google account in two years, Google will deem it inactive. This policy only applies to personal accounts, not those tied to an employer, school, or other organization. 

There was a time when I would clear my email of unopened and unneeded emails. When I began to get more and more spam or unnecessary email, I maintained my folders less. When storage expanded to a point that they stopped warning me of too much email, I stopped cleaning it up altogether.  

It is funny to watch my wife when she sees my email. She is not a person to leave anything cluttered and she stares in horror at heaps of emails sitting unread. If you are like me with years of unread email stacked up and a string of unused email accounts behind you, Gmail is giving you fair warning. 

It is a rare thing to want information from one of those old emails. Every once in a while, I need something from the past and it took a ton of work to find it. It is probably better that they just wipe it out at this point.
