Honest Review: New Strap Tank Brewery In St. George, Utah
Southern Utah has a new addition to its food scene in St. George adding another brewery and food stop.
Strap Tank Brewery opened a location in St. George earlier this week and has been busy since its opening. People have been flooding the location during peak hours and with the delicious looking menu, that is not a surprise.
I had the opportunity to try Strap Tank Brewery on Wednesday, just two days after its opening. Of course, I couldn’t try the WHOLE menu, but I did get a variety of “pub” food to get a feel for the new place.
Before I get to the food, let's talk about Strap Tank Brewery’s location and its decor.
Strap Tank Brewery Vibes
Strap Tank Brewery is a cacophony of old signage and a tribute to Harley Davidson bikes, specifically the very rare Strap Tank. This is one of three locations across Utah and lives up to the Harley Davidson theme.
The St. George location is near the Dixie Center and across from the Hyatt Hotel. With its location being available where conferences and visitors stay, it will be a great draw for tourists. With a walkable distance from both the Dixie Center and multiple hotels, it's sure to be a hit for those looking for a Utah pub experience.

The outside is charming and unique with a rustic feel while the inside is layered in items from the old days. A whole plane sat above my head in the rafters of where I sat, and vintage signs covered every wall.
Basically, a lot of thought went into the vibes of Strap Tank Brewery, and it has a unique feel that St. George didn’t have.
Strap Tank St. George Food Review
The menu is extensive, with burgers, wings, flatbreads, and of course some good brews. Unfortunately, I was on the job so no alcohol for me, but the bar area looked enticing and gave a great feel.
I tried spinach and artichoke dip with pita bread, the pub burger and a side of mac n’ cheese. Though all the food was good, the spinach and artichoke dip really knocked my socks off.
It was obvious that the spinach and artichoke dip was not frozen and was the perfect amount of creamy and salty goodness. The pita bread was so warm and soft and balanced the dip really well.
The pub burger came with lovely fries that were thick, crispy and well-seasoned. The burger itself was a bit dry and did not have enough garlic aioli. It was unfortunately also missing the pickles. However, the burger has good potential and since it was the busy lunch hour and opening week, the kitchen and wait staff may have some kinks to work out.
Lastly, the mac n’ cheese came with fun spiral noodles however the sauce did not cover some of it and looked to be a bit dry. The taste was slightly spicey but interesting. Again, it most likely had to do with the busy time and opening week issues.
Overall, the meal was a bit pricey, but the portions are really good, and you can compare the prices to Longhorn Steakhouse or Red Robins.
I hope to go back in a few months once Strap Tank Brewery has been open for a while and try them once again. However, I do think it is absolutely worth a try and perhaps could become a favorite place in the future.
