Utah may not have the most interesting food for Thanksgiving (funeral potatoes exempt) but it does have some super unique traditions.

Though Utah has the usual turkey trots and other 5ks to prepare for the giant meal on the holiday, it also has some very location-specific activities. Places like Park City, Moab and Salt Lake City have great ideas for families, couples, or just you for Thanksgiving.

Red Sign Blog gives a few of these activities for Utahns across the state and they are actually pretty cool.

Salt Lake City

Holiday Market

In Salt Lake City you and the family can visit the holiday market from Nov. 21-23. Holiday markets provide a great way to support local businesses and maybe get some Christmas shopping done. Plus, they’re just a great way to get into the holiday spirit.

Cold Turkey Run

If you want to get in shape and feel less guilty about the calories you will be consuming later on you can do the Cold Turkey Run in SLC. There is also a kid's version but sign up soon!

Park City

Ice Skating

Park City is so magical during this time of year and really knows how to kick off the holidays. To add to that there is an ice rink at the Tanger Outlet’s that is great for family fun. It is an outdoor rink so make sure to bundle up.

Ogden

Artisan Market

This will be the sixth year this event has been held in Ogden. Each year at Union Station people gather to look at and buy from local artisans. There will be over 120 this year, the website said. Do note that this is a ticketed event.

These are just a few options to get into the holiday spirit this year. There are plenty more scattered around the state.
