Friday Farmers Market Fun In Cedar City
It’s tough to get too bored in Cedar City, particularly in the summer. There’s always something happening from the Utah Shakespeare Festival, ICAMA’s Music in the Park, the July Jamboree, and much more.
Cedar City’s newest artisan and farmer's market is hoping to add to that entertainment.
Jeffery Jensen of Cedar Street Fest spoke at last week’s city council meeting to discuss the event. Cedar Street Fest will be located on the north end of Cedar City on the Cedar Fun Center property. It was announced that 300 vendors applied for Cedar Street Fest with 100 being approved for the first event. The first Cedar Street Fest will include not only 100 vendors, but it will also include an outdoor movie, live music, and Cars & Tacos for car enthusiasts.
It’s being planned for future Cedar Street Fest events also to include theater performances as well as stand-up comedy with the possibility of even more vendors once the organizers see how the first event goes. Cedar Street Fest will be a weekly event beginning Friday, June 2nd, and continuing every Friday after that.
I’ll attach the recording of the Cedar City Council meeting here. The Cedar Street Fest conversation begins at 29:15 but if you want to listen to the entire recording, more power to you. If you’re interested Cedar City Council meetings take place every Wednesday at 5:30 pm.
