
Southern Utah June Wildfire Update: What You Need To Know
Over the weekend, Southern Utah saw devastating wildfires causing evacuations and structural damage.
The most notable fire in Utah is the Forsyth fire that started last Thursday prompting three communities to evacuate over the weekend; Pine Valley, Pinto, and Grass Valley. The smoke can be seen in Ivins and Santa Clara areas as firefighters work to put out the massive flames.
As of Monday, June 23, 13 homes in Pine Valley have been reported lost due to the fire. However, they were not main residences and instead second homes, the Salt Lake Tribune said.

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox came to Southern Utah on Sunday and also added that two of the homes lost belonged to volunteer firefighters.
Right now, there are 400 firefighters working on putting out the Forsyth Fire which is at 0% containment.
Other Fires in Southern Utah
France Canyon Fire
Another notable wildfire from over the weekend is the France Canyon Fire which is near Bryce Canyon National Park. The wildfire has burned over 15,000 acres and is only at 10% containment. However, there are no structures to be burned in its path leaving only grasslands and timber as a fuel source.

Bridge Creek Fire
On the Arizona-Utah border, another fire rages. The Bridge Creek Fire may have been caused by a lightning strike on June 13, 12 News reported.
A new report on Monday June 23 said that fire personnel have been using water from Lake Powell to quell the flames. There are no evacuation orders in place right now and there is 0% containment.
