Several years ago I was making the trip from southern Utah to go see my dad in California. I was traveling with my son who was young at the time and he informed me that he needed to stop. Well we were away from a city at the time but a rest stop was indicated as coming up soon. Not just a rest stop, no it was the Claude V Kane Rest Area.

When I got back I told the person I was doing the radio show at the time about it and we wondered how that got to be named. I floated the possibility that Mr. Kane had worked several years for the state and was set to retire, and just before the retirement party someone realized, “hey we didn't get Claude anything!” In my imagined scenario, as the speaker was honoring Mr. Kane they announced, “Claude, we're naming this rest stop after you!”

After that, we started a campaign to have a bathroom named after our radio show. We figured we sent enough people running that direction. To our surprise, our bathroom never materialized.

It's amazing what you can find on the internet these days. Specifically, it's amazing what you can ask AI these days so I typed in “best public bathrooms in Utah.” I guess I shouldn't be surprised that it would spew out an answer.

Before I give you the answers that AI came up with please heed this important disclaimer provided by the AI

Keep in mind that the quality and cleanliness of public restrooms can vary, so it's always a good idea to have alternative options available.

With that in mind here are a few places in Utah that are often mentioned as having well-maintained public bathrooms

Again, a warning from AI:

Remember that these recommendations are based on general feedback and might not always reflect the current state of the facilities. It's always a good idea to check for recent reviews or ask locals for up-to-date information.

I don't think I need AI to tell me that.
