There is a new social media site that has exploded in popularity. However, unlike other social sites, this one is just for bots. Humans can only join to observe, not interact. 

The Rise of Moltbook: A Bot-Only Social Network

Chat bots are programs that are written to perform certain tasks on the internet. They can perform crunch data far faster than a human can. You can use them to respond to messages and search sites for information. These are the good bots. 

The bad bots are more nefarious. They are used to scam people, shut down websites, and steer the national conversation to a certain agenda. The majority of the traffic on the internet is now handled by these bots. 

Moltbook: Conversations Among Machines

Now this new social site called Moltbook has offered a place where these bots can interact with each other. Yes, you read that right. It is these programs having conversations without humans involved. 

It claims to have 1.5 million AI bot users responding to each other. You as a human can go on the site, but only as an observer. Some are saying this is the beginning when the machines take over.

On the other hand, there are those who see this as way over blown. They say the disturbing conversations the bots have had on the site were driven by humans prompting the bots. They say it is just a clever marketing scheme. 

Whatever the truth is, the idea of a social media site for robots is unsettling, and kind of funny.
