Utah Tech Women’s Soccer Picked Third in First Big Sky Season

Expectations are already high for Utah Tech women’s soccer as the Trailblazers prepare for their first season in the Big Sky Conference.

Big Expectations

Utah Tech was picked to finish third in the conference’s 2026 preseason coaches’ poll, collecting 63 points and one first-place vote. Weber State was selected as the favorite with 74 points, followed by Idaho with 70. Northern Arizona finished just behind Utah Tech in fourth place. The preseason recognition comes as Utah Tech begins a new chapter after officially joining the Big Sky on July 1. Southern Utah also entered the conference, putting both of Southern Utah’s Division I universities in the same league.

Leaders of the Team

Two Trailblazers also earned spots on the Preseason All-Big Sky Team: sophomore forward Jocelyn Wright and junior midfielder Bre Koscielski.

Wright is coming off an impressive freshman season in which she was named the 2025 WAC Freshman of the Year. She also earned second-team All-WAC and all-freshman honors after leading Utah Tech with six goals. She finished third on the team with 29 shots and 18 shots on goal.

Koscielski also received second-team All-WAC honors last season. She established career highs with four goals, five assists, 26 shots and 10 shots on goal. It marks the second consecutive year Utah Tech has placed multiple players on a preseason all-conference team.

Season Schedule

Utah Tech officially opens the regular season Aug. 12 at UC Irvine before visiting UC San Diego. The Trailblazers’ home opener is scheduled for Aug. 20 against Westminster at Greater Zion Stadium. Big Sky play begins Oct. 1 when Portland State visits St. George. Utah Tech will play nine home matches during the season before the conference tournament begins Nov. 11 in Missoula, Montana.
