Wendy’s Closing Down 140 Locations: Is Utah or Nevada At Risk?
UH OH...
Wendy’s is the restaurant scaling back, with plans to close down 140 underperforming restaurants nationwide by the end of next year. While it may seem like a teeny tiny dent in their huge network of over 6,000 U.S. locations, fans in Utah and Nevada have reason to worry. With 86 restaurants in Utah and 46 in Nevada—there’s a chance some of these spots may be in trouble.
Which Wendy’s Locations Might Be Closing?
Wondering how they decide which Wendy’s locations will face closure? It all going to come down to sales. Wendy’s will be shutting down branches that make less than $1.1 million annually, which is about half of what the average Wendy’s brings in across the country. So, if your local Wendy’s feels like it's never busy, this one could be in trouble.
How Will This Impact Utah and Nevada?
Here’s a quick look at what fans in these states might expect:
- Utah: With 86 Wendy’s locations across the state, fans in places like Salt Lake City and St. George may have to say goodbye to some favorite spots.
- Nevada: With only 46 Wendy’s in the state, fans in Nevada may be a little safer, but low-performing stores could still face closure.
