The Scorching Summers of Southern Utah
If you've spent a summer in Southern Utah (or even a few days), you already know... the heat here is absolutely no joke! Places like St. George and Moab don't just get a little warm, they FRY! What's wild about all this is... this year, we didn't even have to wait for summer to show up! March alone saw temperatures in the upper 90's in parts of the state, making this the warmest winter Utah has ever recorded. Northern Utah finally got some snowfall, but nowhere near what they're used to! Good thing we didn't have the Olympics this year!
From Snow to Sunshine: A State of Contrasts
That's one of the truly unique things about the Beehive State. It's a state of extremes! You can be digging your car out of snow one week, and the next week you'll be getting a sunburn! Southern Utah counties are especially known for their hot desert climate, long stretches of cloudless skies, and summers that feel like they'll never end. But they're not alone: there are a few spots in Utah that consistently rank among the hottest places in the state year after year.
