Arizona Hosts One Of The Most Visited National Parks In America
In terms of states with the most natural beauty, I'd throw Arizona at the top of the list. Every inch of this state is covered in some of the most awe-inspiring views known to man.
There's nowhere better to soak in the majesty of the natural world than the national parks and national memorials, but one stands above (or technically below) the rest.
The Grand Canyon is Still Insanely Popular
In the northwestern corner of the state sits one of the greatest works of art Mother Nature has ever created. That is, of course, The Grand Canyon, a billion-year-old project, started by the Colorado river carving the Arizona landscape to its whims.
Of the United States' 433 National Park sites (63 of them being actual "National Parks"), The Grand Canyon is one almost everyone needs to see, and that trend has continued well into the modern day. It was the third most visited National Park in 2024, being surpassed only by Great Smokey Mountains National Park in North Carolina/Tennessee and Zion National Park in Utah.

Hiding the Numbers
Turns out, we almost had no idea this was happening. As massive layoffs have been taking place through the National Park Agency, employees are being asked to not share the visitation numbers they've collected.
These may seem like small changes, but as more and more employees have been laid off, it's creating fear for the future of National Parks. With no one to take care of them, how will they survive? If we reach that reality, it's up to us to take care of Mother Nature's majesty.
