Santa Clara, Utah just got its very first Greek food place recently expanding the cuisine options to those in the area.

Meráki Greek Grill moved next door to Harmon’s in Santa Clara recently and has been pretty busy since its opening. With a Greek cuisine, spacious seating and a decent-sized menu, Meráki is quickly becoming better known in the St. George area.

I had the opportunity to go try it this week with my mom who, even though is not a fan of Greek food, enjoyed some of the items we tried. So, even if you aren’t a Greek food enthusiast, there is a high chance you’ll be able to find something to eat.

Meráki Greek Grill Pricing Review

The prices seem a little high, however, once you see the portions, it actually is super fair. I got a total of four items: a gyro, Greek fries, baklava, and spanakopita. The total for all four items was about $31. However, that food could have easily fed two people and I had some to bring home.

Meráki Greek Grill Southern Utah Food Review

I haven’t honestly had much Greek food however, the one experience I did have made me avoid it until now. So many people have been saying how wonderful the gyros are that I just had to give it a try. Now, I think it may be a place I go fairly often since it's close to home and was absolutely delicious!

Starting off with the spanakopita, which is essentially an appetizer, I found it super yummy even though I had almost no idea what it was. You get two pieces of crispy phyllo dough filled with baby spinach and fetta. It was pretty darn good but not my favorite. A fun experience though.

Next, I tried the beef gyro with the small Greek fries. The Gyro had tomato, lettuce, purple onion, feta cheese and tzatziki. It was HUGE. Figuring out how to get it all in my mouth was a challenge. However, it was so freaking good and just made me want to keep eating it. The flavors were a great combo.

The Greek fries were yummy sprinkled with feta cheese. These are the thicker kind of fries with a good batter on them, but it was A LOT. Even though it was a small order.

Lastly, the baklava was sweet and delicious. Layered phyllo dough with toasted walnuts and some honey/syrup made this a lovely, sweet treat. It's kind of messy so beware of that but I'd go back just for some of the baklava.

Final Words:

If you’ve been hesitating to try Meráki Grill, I highly recommend going. This is not only a unique add on to cuisine in Santa Clara but a place worth the price. The only downside may be that Harmon’s parking lot is going to become a lot busier from now on.

31 Foods That Should Never Put In The Freezer

It's always a difficult decision to throw away food because it seems so wasteful, not to mention the cost groceries make it seem like you're throwing money away.

That's why when we have leftovers or cook a large batch of food, it's tempting to preserve it by throwing it in the freezer. While that can work for some of the food you enjoy, the freezer can't save everything. In fact, sometimes it can make the food we put into it worse.

According to LoveFood, here are 31 foods that should never be stored in your freezer.
