The Absolute Worst Pins Utahns Commonly Use That Are Easy To Guess

Thinking of a pin for any security measure can be tedious and most fall back on their tried and true but maybe it isn’t as safe as you think.  

Common numbers may be easy for Utahns to remember, but it's also easier for a hacker to generate them. Plus, thinking of new pins and passwords for each account, each device, each service can be...a lot.  

I know that even I have been guilty of using a pin a few times for different accounts or even the same password. Is that smart? No, but it's helpful for my scattered brain.  

So, if you are like me and are wondering how safe your pin is, a study done by ABC News showed the most common pins used will be telling.

You should know that the obvious, 0000, 1111, 2222, etc. are not safe and easily hackable. However, the other top 25 pins may come as a surprise.

These are just half of the list with 1234 being 9% of the popular pin analyzed by the study. So, if your pin resembles a date, has the same numbers or is an easy combination, you aren���t being slick.

Though tap to pay is pretty much everywhere, using your pin for your debit card still happens. Plus, other websites and services demand a four-digit code sometimes too. Be on the safe side and avoid any pins that look like the ones above and change it ASAP if it is the same as any of them.
