And In The Morning…Waffles
The Belgian Waffle Ride is returning to Cedar City for a fourth year.
The Belgian Waffle Ride and Expo will include a new course this year with different surfaces, including gravel, single track, rocky trails, sandy sections, asphalt, and bike paths.
According to Velo Outside.com, the Belgian Waffle Ride was the idea of Michael Marckx’s desire to build a Belgian-style classic in North San Diego County in 2011. Also, to “pay homage to the Belgian classics, Marckx names the various dirt sections and painful climbs with Belgium-inspired names such as “Kakaboutet”, “Twistenweg”, and “Muur van Dubbelberg”.
Last year's Cedar City race was won by Whitney Allison and Peter Stetina.
The Belgian Waffle Ride and Expo will take place at Cedar City’s Main Street Park from August 24th-26th. You can find out more about the Belgian Waffle Ride and Expo at the link here.
