A Unique Fall Drink For Utahns To Try This October
When you think of Fall you don’t usually think of mimosas, that’s a summer drink but this Fall mimosa might change your mind.
Inspired by Green Sweet Home on Instagram, I decided to try one of her drinks with some supplies I had on hand. I have never been a champagne lover, but this drink is definitely fun for the season, and I highly recommend giving it a try.
Apple Cider Mimosa
In the recipe by Danielle Green, creator of Green Sweet Home, she uses apple cider, champagne/prosecco, apples, cinnamon and sugar.
She uses an apple to rub the rim and make it sticky so the cinnamon and sugar coat it nicely. Add some cider and top with your preferred champagne/prosecco.
I did not have an apple on hand, and I did not feel like cutting one up so consider this the lazy version of the Apple Cider Mimosa. I grabbed a bottle of Cook’s California Champagne (extra dry), and some apple cider from the store and headed home.
I don’t have champagne glasses, so my super not-fancy mason jar worked fine. Instead of apples and the cinnamon sugar mix, I used honey and brown sugar.
The Apple Cider Mimosa is already an easy drink, so I just dipped the glass I had in honey and then brown sugar. After that you add the apple cider (as much as you want) and then your drink of choice (as much as you want).
Now, this isn’t anything too fancy and if you love apple cider in the Fall as much as I do, this will be a refreshing change of pace. It’s a subtle taste but it’s great for a not too boozy hangout with friends and family. It's also very customizable and requires few ingredients so pretty cheap.
Let me know what you think!
